The Lab

Framework Labs.

A small research lab that builds reasoning cores — the part of an intelligent product that does the thinking — and holds them to a standard before anyone builds on them.

What We Are

What we are.

Framework Labs is a research lab, not a product company. We build reasoning cores as durable, general-purpose systems, and other companies build products on top of them.

The core is the thing worth getting right. A product is built for a market and a moment; a well-built core outlasts both, and gets stronger every time it meets a new domain. So the lab builds cores and keeps building them, rather than betting on any single application of one.

We work in a particular way. We decide deliberately and write the decisions down, with the reasoning kept alongside them. We design for the failure modes, not just the path where everything goes right. And we hold what we build to a standard before our name goes on it.

Founder

Jason Amos

Jason founded Framework Labs to build reasoning cores as durable systems and keep them in a lab that outlasts any single product. He leads the lab's strategy and direction, and the relationships that put its cores into production. He works alongside Jakye as both partner and mentor.

Technical Lead

Jakye Amos

Jakye leads the engineering. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in computer science and minors in artificial intelligence, statistics, and data science, and has worked as a software engineer at Amazon across three terms, as a technical consultant to an Andreessen Horowitz portfolio company, and as lead engineer at Forward Automations, where he delivered a clinical-coaching system for the Cleveland Clinic. He architects the cores end to end — the reasoning, the verification, and the parts that hold them to a standard.

Method

How we work.

01

We write things down.

Decisions are recorded with the reasoning behind them. A choice that cannot be explained is a choice that is not finished.

02

We build for the edges.

A core that handles the easy case is not done. The design is organized around the conditions that show up under load, at scale, and at the boundary — because that is where a reasoning core is tested.

03

We verify before we claim.

The cores hold their output to a standard before returning it, and the lab holds its own performance claims to independent review before publishing them. It is the same principle, applied twice.
